A message from our founder

Mason W. Briles

“Whether you are a potential client, employer, or program director, I welcome you to learn more about myself and what MWB Healthcare has to offer. I have a wealth of clinical experience, offer a wide range of services, and have high ambition for my patients and myself. Thank you for coming, and I hope to hear from you soon!”

Our Background

As a clinician, Mason Briles brings a wealth of experience as The Galloway School’s Head Athletic Trainer. As a seasoned professional with expertise in both collegiate and high school environments, Mason has a solid foundation in sports medicine, injury prevention, recognition, diagnosis, athlete rehabilitation and reconditioning, and efficiently coordinating patient care. Mason is passionate about enhancing patients’ physical performance and well-being through research, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration, employing a patient-centered, culturally competent approach to improve health outcomes.

Mason spent four years as an athletic trainer at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, coordinating medical care for their NCAA Women’s Volleyball and Women’s Softball teams, supporting them on multiple journeys to the NCAA Championships including respective appearances in the Elite Eight and NCAA Super Regional while volunteering as the Faculty Advisor for their Athlete Ally Chapter. Mason has additional experience in elite athletics and event medicine including Team USA Marathon Olympic Trials, Ironman Triathlons, USA Track and Field, the Peachtree Road Race, the NBA Academy, and Division I Men’s Football and Women’s Basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, as well as a previous stint at Emory University. Mason has additional experience providing medical care to pediatric populations in secondary schools. Before joining The Galloway School, Mason served for three years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Tucker High School in Tucker, Georgia. Additionally, while in graduate school, Mason worked with state-champion athletic programs at McCallie Boys' School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Decatur High School in Decatur, Georgia. In addition to his clinical work, Mason has published research and presented on a variety of topics, including the real-world application of medical education, sideline emergency management, biomechanical data collection, traumatic orthopedic injuries, public health concepts for preventing the transmission of infectious diseases, rhabdomyolysis, and exercise-induced heat stress. Thus far, Mason has dedicated his career to supporting athletes in traditional athletic environments, but he ultimately plans to attend a Physician Assistant/Associate program to work in emergency medicine, orthopedic trauma, or surgical orthopedics. Here, Mason will be able to utilize his strong background in orthopedic and sports medicine for acute diagnosis and treatment in fast-paced settings. Mason is passionate about increasing healthcare equity for historically underserved populations and promoting employment equity and security for LGBTQ+ medical providers. Mason is a veteran of athletic training who graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Master of Science in Athletic Training and from Auburn University’s School of Kinesiology, where he earned concurrent Bachelor of Science degrees in Exercise Science and Fitness, Conditioning, and Performance. In the coming years, Mason will be an incoming physician assistant student pursuing a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Born and raised in the Atlanta Metro Area, Mason is no stranger to the “City in the Forest.” However, in his free time, Mason enjoys traveling to new cities and countries, competing in fencing, and searching for the perfect taco (his current local favorite being the carnitas at Taqueria Del Sol).
